Receive money

There's generally no limit on the amount of money you can receive into your Revolut account via bank transfer. However, some sending services, like other banks, may have their own daily or per-transaction limits.

For card top-ups, limits are set automatically by our system for security. These limits adjust as you use your account. Transfers from other Revolut users typically have no limits.

If you're expecting a very large transfer, we may require additional information to comply with regulations. If this is the case, our team will contact you in the app to guide you through the process.

Your money and personal data are protected by our always-on security systems. We use two-factor authentication to ensure you are the only one who can log in to your account. Our anti-fraud warnings will also alert you in-app if we suspect a transfer may be a scam.

Additionally, we use other security methods that vary depending on the Revolut entity you're registered to.

The details you need depend on the type of transfer you're expecting.

• For payments from a non-Revolut bank account, you'll need to provide the sender with your account details. This may include your IBAN, BIC/SWIFT code, and your full name
• For local transfers in certain countries, you might only need your account number and sort code
• For instant payments from another Revolut user, you can simply share your phone number or your Revtag (a unique username), and no bank details are needed

All of your account details can be found easily in the Revolut app. Simply go to the Accounts tab, select the currency you wish to receive, and tap Details to find everything you need.

The speed of your transfer depends on where the money is coming from.

• Revolut-to-Revolut transfers: money sent from another Revolut customer arrives instantly, usually in seconds
• Local bank transfers: inbound transfers from local banks typically arrive in a few minutes or hours, though they can sometimes take up to one business day
• International transfers: the time for an international transfer (via SWIFT) can vary. While many transfers arrive within a couple of business days, some may take up to 5 business days, depending on the sending bank and any intermediary banks involved

We will notify you instantly with an in-app notification as soon as the funds arrive in your Revolut account.

Receiving money with Revolut is simple and secure. The person or company sending you money just needs your Revolut account details to complete the transfer.

To get started, provide the sender with your international bank details, including your IBAN and SWIFT/BIC code. You can find these easily in the Revolut app by tapping on the Accounts tab, selecting the currency you want to receive, and tapping Details.

We'll notify you as soon as the funds arrive. Once the money is in your account, you can spend, exchange, or transfer it right away.

The best way to receive money from abroad depends on your situation and the sender's preferences. Revolut offers several fast and easy ways to get paid.

Instant Revolut-to-Revolut payments

If the sender also has a Revolut account, this is the best option for instant, no-fee payments. All they need is your phone number or Revtag to send you money in seconds.

International bank transfers

You can receive a traditional bank transfer from any bank in the world. Just provide the sender with your international account details, like your IBAN and SWIFT/BIC code. This method is ideal for receiving a salary, large sums, or business payments. It's a secure and reliable way to get paid, though it can take a few business days.

Receiving card payments

For freelancers or business owners, you can accept payments directly to your Revolut account via a payment link or a virtual terminal. This is a great way to accept card payments from clients, regardless of their location.

No matter which method you choose, Revolut will notify you instantly when your money arrives, and you'll have full control to spend, exchange, or transfer it as you wish.

With Revolut, receiving money is just as easy as sending it. To receive international transfers, select the currency account you'd like the incoming transfer to go to, tap the SWIFT tab to find your details, and give the sender those details.
